Professor of Physics at Universidade Estadual de Campinas in Brazil. He obtained the bachelor's degree in Physics from Universidade de São Paulo in 1975, master's in Physics from Universidade de São Paulo in 1977, and the PhD in Physics from Universidade de São Paulo in 1981. His work focuses on Condensed Matter Physics, in particular on the following subjects: structural and thermodynamical properties of condensed matter, phase transitions, and defects, using computer simulations.
