Fabíola Isabel Suano de Souza

She obtained her degree in Medicine (2000) and completed her residency in Paediatrics (2002) at the Faculty of Medicine of ABC (FMABC), São Paulo, Brazil, before earning a Masters degree (2006) and Doctorate (2011) at the Paulista School of Medicine Federal University of São Paulo (EPM-UNIFESP). The Brazilian Society of Paediatrics conferred upon her the title of Specialist in Paediatrics (2003), followed by subspecialist certification in Paediatric Clinical Nutrition (2005) and in Parenteral and Enteral Nutritional Therapy (2006). Currently, she holds the position of Associate Professor in the Discipline of General and Community Paediatrics, Department of Paediatrics, EPM-UNIFESP, and Associate Professor in the Discipline of Clinical Paediatrics, Department of Paediatrics, FMABC, where she also serves as Coordinator and Academic Supervisor of the Postgraduate Programme in Paediatrics and Applied Paediatric Sciences. Her contributions extend beyond academia, having participated in the Ministry of Healths Working Groups responsible for the National Food Guide for Children under 2 years of age and for strategies to address Childhood Obesity. Recognition of her scientific expertise has led to her appointment as Research and Scientific Excellence Coordinator of the Latin American DOHaD Society (International Society for Developmental Origins of Health and Disease) for the 20252027 term, as well as President of the Department of Clinical Nutrition of the Brazilian Society of Paediatrics (20252028). She is also an active member of the Brazilian Observatory on Conflicts of Interest in Food and Nutrition and the PENSSAN Network (Brazilian Research Network on Food and Nutritional Sovereignty and Security).Her principal research interests encompass breastfeedingparticularly human milk compositioncomplementary feeding, growth and development of preterm infants, and micronutrient deficiencies.
