Nayara Benatti is a researcher and educator, currently a PhD Candidate in Architecture and Urbanism at the Institute of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (IAU-USP), supported by a CAPES scholarship. She completed a research exchange at Leuphana Universität Lüneburg (Germany) with a CAPES_PRINT scholarship. She holds a Master's degree from IAU-USP (FAPESP scholarship recipient) and a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), providing a solid interdisciplinary foundation in urban sociology, social sciences, and education. She is an active researcher at the Center for Contemporary Spatialities Studies (Núcleo de Estudos das Espacialidades Contemporâneas - NEC-IAU).Her research explores repertoires of action and urban practices that promote civil society's appropriation of public spaces through manifestations, urban protests, social interventions, cultural mediations, and tactical actions. In this process, she investigates the potential of urban action in direct dialogue with the use of digital platforms, especially virtual social networks, as facilitators of these articulation processes. She possesses international teaching experience (Leuphana University, Germany, with courses on ethnography and urban space), academic research, and collaborative practices, with an emphasis on participatory methodologies, urban ethnography, and critical cartography. She has expertise in developing qualitative and interdisciplinary research, constructing methodologies for territorial analysis and representation, and articulating between art, politics, and the city, also utilizing digital and collaborative tools for visualizing spatial and social data. Additionally, she is a producer of cultural events, with projects recognized and awarded by APCA, Petrobras, PROAC, and MinC. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
