Felipe Gomes Rubira

Associate Professor C Level I at the Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL-MG), working in the undergraduate programs in Geography and Biological Sciences. He is a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Geography (PPGEO) and a collaborating professor in the Graduate Program in Environmental Sciences (PPGCA), where he supervises master's theses and doctoral dissertations. Currently, he serves as coordinator of the Bachelor's Program in Geography at UNIFAL-MG (2025-2027). Ph.D. in Geography, with an emphasis on genetic-evolutionary process analysis, from the University of Campinas (2019), with research internships at the Universities of Coimbra, Évora, Porto, and Chile. He received an Honorable Mention in the CAPES Thesis Award (2020). Holds a Masters degree in Geography, with an emphasis on environmental analysis (2014), and a Bachelor's and Full Licentiate Degree in Geography (2010), all from the State University of Maringá. Previously served as Associate Professor and coordinator of the Geography Program at the Federal University of Western Bahia (2018-2020). Has experience in Geosciences, with emphasis on Geomorphology and Geotechnologies, focusing on the following topics: (1) long-term landscape evolution and morphostructural influences on drainage network reorganization; (2) geochronology of Quaternary depositional environments; (3) risk, susceptibility, and environmental vulnerability modeling in the context of climate change, extreme events, and natural disasters; (4) geotechnologies applied to the monitoring, conservation, preservation, and restoration of degraded areas; and (5) geodiversity mapping and morphometric indices applied to environmental planning and sustainable management.
