Alexander Batista Duharte

Graduated in Medicine from the University of Medical Sciences of Santiago de Cuba (1992), 1st level specialization (1996), 2nd level specialization (2007) in Immunology, and a Ph.D. in Medicine from the University of Medical Sciences of Havana (2012). Ex-Director of the Toxicology and Biomedicine Center and the Regulatory Bureau for Health Protection of the province Santiago de Cuba (2005-2010). I was an Assistant professor at the University of Medical Sciences of Santiago de Cuba (2009-2013). I received different national and international awards such as the Cuban Sciences Academy Award (2009), Annual National Prize of Health of Cuba (2011), Cuban Society of Immunology Award 2012, the Latino American Immunology Association awards (2009 and 2012), and Rector's Award of the University of Medical Sciences of Santiago de Cuba as Professor-Researcher of the Year 2012. I received a CAPES fellowship as Visiting Professor (CAPES) in the Clinical Immunology Laboratory, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), Brazil (2013). FAPESPs Post-Doctoral fellowship (2016-2020). (2019-2010) Postdoctoral stay (BEPE-FAPESP), University of Valencia, Spain. Postdoctoral Researcher Maria Curie (União Europeia) (2021-2023); Researcher Miguel Sevet (Spain)(2023-current). Titular Member of the Cuban Society of Immunology and Spanish Society of Immunology. I led several research projects in Cuba, Argentina, Spain and Brazil. Titular member of the Cuban Society of Immunology. I have experience in the field of clinical and experimental immunology, with an emphasis on vaccines and immunotoxicology, working mainly on the following topics: immunotoxicology of xenobiotics, induction of immune response, immunological adjuvants, development and evaluation of vaccines, immunobiology of Neisseria meningitidis and opportunistic pathogenic fungi with emphasis on the Sporothrix schenckii complex (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
