Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (1993), he holds a master's degree in Cell Biology from the State University of Campinas (1996) and a PhD in Cellular and Structural Biology also from the State University of Campinas (2001). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Center for Natural and Human Sciences, Federal University of ABC. He has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Morphology, with emphasis on Cytology and Cell Biology. He works mainly on the study of in vitro cell differentiation induced by growth substrates. His main line of research is the study of the interactions between cells in culture with biomaterials, aiming at tissue engineering procedures. He works on the following topics: cell culture, cell growth and differentiation, biomaterials, bioresorbable polymers and metal alloys. He was director of the Center for Natural and Human Sciences (CCNH) between 2009 and 2013 and member of the superior councils of UFABC (Consuni and Consepe) in several terms. In 2016, he coordinated the Technology Transfer Division (DTT) at the UFABC Innovation Agency (Inova-UFABC). He was also the Director of Inova-UFABC between April 2018 and July 2022.
