Birthplace: Brazil

PhD in Genetics from the University of São Paulo (USP), with a research internship at the Institute of Evolutionary Biology (IBE-CSIC) in Barcelona, Spain (FAPESP grant: 2020/04166-4; BEPE grant: 2022/01448-4). Masters degree in Genetics from USP (FAPESP grant: 2016/13854-6), and Bachelors degree in Biology (B.Sc. and Teaching License Sandwich Program) from the State University of Londrina (UEL) and James Cook University (Australia), where he participated in an academic exchange program from July 2013 to January 2015 through the Ciência sem Fronteiras Program (CNPq/CAPES grant: 88888.085958/2013-00).During his undergraduate studies, he was a Duke Energy International fellow, working at the Laboratory of Animal Genetics and Ecology at UEL on projects related to conservation genetics. During his postgraduate studies, he conducted research at the Bee Developmental Biology Laboratory at USP, focusing on gene expression regulation mediated by microRNAs and two key morphogenetic hormones: Juvenile Hormone (JH) and 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E). Additionally, he deepened his investigation into the JH signaling pathway, with particular emphasis on its role in regulating ovarian development in insects. He has experience in Genetics, with an emphasis on Molecular Genetics, mainly working on the following topics: chromosomal characterization, molecular species identification (DNA barcoding), morphogenetic hormone signaling pathways in insects (JH and 20E), microRNA-mediated gene expression control, and gene silencing techniques (RNAi and dsRNA).
