PhD in Meteorology from National Institute for Space Research (INPE-Brazil). Dr. Gilvan Sampaio has been working on climate modelling and climate studies for the last 25 years at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), Cachoeira Paulista-Brazil; initially as a Researcher and more recently as a Senior Researcher. Currently he is the coordinator of the Center for Weather Forecasting and Climate Studies (CPTEC/INPE). Researcher in the Group of Biosphere-Atmosphere Interactions at the Earth System Science Centre (CCST/INPE). His areas of expertise are biosphere-atmosphere interactions, regional climate and land surface processes and global climate modelling, climate change and paleoclimatology. Another area of expertise is to research the impacts of changes in land use and global warming on the South America climate using Earth System models (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
