Birthplace: Brazil

My scientific interests are on the microrganisms, especially fungi, soil and plants from tropical systems. I am currently a post-doc at the Laboratory of Pathology and Microbial Control at ESALQ/USP, bioprospecting and experimenting with beneficial soil fungi and root endophytes from Brazilian biomes. In addition to research, I have been the manager of INCT Bioinsumos Inovadores since 2023. Previously, I was a FAPESP postdoc at the Conservation Biology Laboratory (LaBiC/Unesp) studying soil microorganisms from the Atlantic Forest and their relationship with (the loss of) large herbivorous mammals. I did a PhD in Tropical Biology at James Cook University (Cairns, Australia) studying the regeneration patterns of vegetation and soil in secondary forests. I obtained a Master's degree in Ecology from the National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA, Manaus) at the Amazon Forest Inventory Network (RAINFOR) studying the dynamics of organic matter and carbon stocks in Amazonian soils. I studied Biological Sciences (BA and BSc) at the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos - UNISINOS in the Restoration Ecology Laboratory, where I studied the macrofungal communities in native Araucaria and planted forests as well as the regeneration of the native forests after intense degradation.Translated with DeepL.com (free version) (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
