Birthplace: Brazil

Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (USP, 2022) and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Chemistry from São Paulo State University (UNESP, 2019). During the undergraduate program, focused on the production and characterization of carbon-rich materials (hydrochars), investigating their chemical properties and applications in agricultural and energy sectors. Conducted research at the Institut Méditerranéen d'Océanologie (MIO) at the University of Toulon, France, under the supervision of Dr. Stéphane Mounier, evaluating the interactions between organic matter from Amazonian anthropogenic soils (Terra Mulata), metals, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) using fluorescence techniques. The master's research, conducted in partnership with the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA), focused on soil biological studies (enzyme activity and microbial biomass) and the quality of dissolved organic matter (DOM) in pastures under intensive and integrated livestock-forest production systems. During this time, completed a research internship in Dr. Patrick Hatchers laboratory, applying advanced techniques such as chromatography, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and high-resolution mass spectrometry (ESI-FT-ICR-MS) to characterize DOM. Currently pursuing a PhD in Chemistry at Old Dominion University, USA, as a member of Dr. Hatchers research group. The doctoral research is centered on environmental chemistry and geochemistry, with an emphasis on the origin and chemical transformations of plant-derived biopolymers in natural systems, including soils, peatlands, marine sediments, and oceanic waters.
