Holds a Bachelors degree (2006) and a teaching license (2007) in Biological Sciences from Universidade de São Paulo, and a Masters (2009) and Ph.D. (2015) in Sciences (Cell and Tissue Biology) from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the same university. Completed a postdoctoral fellowship (20152018) in the Division of Biology and Biological Engineering at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Since then, has been working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of São Paulo, with appointments in the Departments of Cell and Developmental Biology (Institute of Biomedical Sciences) and Biochemistry (Institute of Chemistry). Between 2023 and 2024, was a visiting researcher at the Department of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School and the Department of Pathology at Boston Childrens Hospital. Our laboratory aims to dissect the molecular role of chicken Scratch2 (cScrt2) in neural development.
