Luana Mattos de Oliveira Cruz

She has a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sanitation Technology from State University of Campinas (2006) and a degree in Environmental Engineering from University of São Francisco (USF). She had her Master's and Doctoral degrees from School of Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Urbanism (FECFAU) - UNICAMP, in the field of Sanitation and Environment. She worked as a researcher during a post- doc at IHE - Delft in the Netherlands, focusing her studies on the anammox process. She is Associate Professor in Sewage and Wastewater Treatment Systems chair at FECFAU - UNICAMP since 2021. She has experience in the field of Sanitary Engineering, with an emphasis on Wastewater tratment. She Works with: (i) Centralized treatment systems, especially in studies related to biological nutrient removal and resource recovery; and (ii) Decentralized treatment systems, mainly targeting small communities, isolated communities, and rural areas.
