Verley Henry is an architect and urban planner who holds a bachelors degree from the University of Campinas (Unicamp) and a masters degree from the Graduate Program in Architecture, Technology and the City (PPGATC), affiliated with the School of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urban Design (FECFAU) at the same institution. His research focuses on the development of geometric algorithms applied to the construction industry.During his undergraduate studies, he was awarded a Fórmula Santander scholarship to pursue an academic exchange program at the University of Coimbra (Portugal). He conducted two undergraduate research projects funded by CNPq and FAPESP. The second of these was awarded Honorable Mention at the 26th Unicamp Scientific Initiation Congress and led to a research internship (BEPE/FAPESP) at the ACT Lab of the Politecnico di Milano (Italy), where he contributed to the construction of the Trabeculae Pavilion. This same research line was further developed during his master's studies under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gabriela Celani.Professionally, his work spans a variety of scales and contexts, with a strong emphasis on technologies such as digital fabrication, Building Information Modeling (BIM), parametric design, and computational geometry. He worked as a project architect at the UK-based firm WAY, in collaboration with Astudio and Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, contributing to projects in the United Kingdom and Canada. He is also the founder of Y2 Arquitetura, an architecture studio where he develops projects ranging from prefabricated houses to executive-level contributions to airport and metro station design.Currently, he works as a software engineer at LeapThought (New Zealand), as part of a multidisciplinary and international team focused on the development of the Model Checking module of the Fulcrum software, used to validate models for the CORENET X platform, operated by the Government of Singapore. His responsibilities include: developing software solutions for the AEC industry, with a focus on model checking, quality assurance, and BIM technologies; engaging with industry experts to gather and analyze requirements; researching and applying new technologies and methodologies; participating in code reviews to ensure quality and test coverage; writing and maintaining technical and user documentation; testing and debugging features to ensure they meet functional and performance requirements.
