Abstract

This research proposes to investigate ways of establishing a more continuous flow between the algorithmic design process and a Building Information Model (BIM) system over the stages of the architectural design. Therefore, this work will use an empirical method applied in the prefabricated bathroom's industry, from algorithmic design to extraction of designs for rapid prototyping from BIM. Besides, it is proposed the bibliographic revision of the attempts and successes of this connection in addition to the selection of the softwares that facilitate this passage. At the end, the establishment of a connection method between algorithmic creation and BIM, will achieve a significant gain in the creative process, work continuity, compatibilization, time, cost and digital manufacturing in architectural projects.
