Maria Raquel Gomes Fernandes

Bachelor of Pharmacy, University of Sorocaba-UNISO (2019). During her undergraduate studies, she was part of the Rational Use of Medicines Research Group, with the development of two scientific initiatives. She was awarded a Scientific Initiation Scholarship by FAPESP with the research project Efficacy and Safety of Repellents Marketed in Brazil against the Bites of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus Mosquitoes: Systematic Review, which resulted in the publication of an article in an international journal of relevance to the area. Master of Science, area of #8203;#8203;concentration: biotechnology (2023) by the Postgraduate Program in Biosciences and Biotechnology Applied to Pharmacy (concept: CAPES 7) at São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP). During her master's degree, she was part of the Functional Genomics and Vector Microbiology research group and developed the research project Bioprospecting of bacteria with antiviral properties from the intestinal microbiota of the Aedes aegypti mosquito with a master's scholarship from FAPESP. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in the Graduate Program in Biological Sciences (Genetics) ( CAPES 6) at UNESP, with a CAPES scholarship. She works in the research line Identification of Therapeutic Targets for Cancer Using Single-Cell Transcriptomics and Artificial Intelligence. She is developing the research project Drug Repositioning Using the Reversal of the Gene Expression Profile of Individual Malignant Cells for the Therapy of Metastatic Cancer integrating data from single cell RNA-Sequencing and using artificial intelligence for drug prediction.
