Dr. Ranny Michalski is an assistant professor at the Technology Department of Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (FAUUSP) (2016). Researcher and vice-coordinator of LABAUT (Laboratory of Environmental Comfort and Energy Efficiency). President of the Center for Research in Architecture, Urbanism and Design Technology at USP (NUTAU USP). Vice coordinator of the São Paulo Regional of the Brazilian Society of Acoustics (SOBRAC). Professional certified by SOBRAC in the modality F Exact Sciences. She participates in the elaboration of Brazilian technical standards, through the Brazilian Civil Construction Committee of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT/CB-02), the Commission for the Study of Acoustic Performance of Buildings of ABNT (ABNT/CE-02:135.01) and of the ABNT Brazilian Committee on Acoustics (ABNT/CB-196), coordinator of the Commission for the Study of Terminology in Acoustics of the Brazilian Committee on Acoustics of ABNT (ABNT/CB-196). Editor of Revista Acústica Vibrações and reviewer of several periodicals in the area of expertise. Graduate in Mechanical Engineering at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2003), graduate in English at Fundação Educacional Unificada Campograndense (2005), master's in Mechanical Engineering from COPPE-UFRJ (2005), and doctorate's in Mechanical Engineering from COPPE-UFRJ (2011). Prior to working at USP, she was a researcher-collaborator at Inmetro (Brazilian National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality), at the Laboratory of Acoustic Testing (LAENA) of the Division of Acoustics and Vibrations (DIAVI) (2006-2015).
