Abstract
The snakes belonging to genus Crotalus are classified, phylogenetically, in the superfamily Colubroidea, family Viperidae and subfamily Crotalinae. This genus is comprised of approximately 29 species and, in South America, the specimens belong to Crotalus durissus species.
