Sérgio Amadeu da Silveira holds a degree in Social Sciences (1989), Master (2000) and PhD in Political Science from the University of São Paulo (2005). He is an associate professor at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC). He is a member of the Scientific Deliberative Committee of the Brazilian Association of Researchers in Cyberculture (ABCiber) and board member of the Internet Steering Committee in Brazil.
