Elton Vicente Escobar-Silva holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences from the Federal University of São Paulo UNIFESP (2015), along with an exchange program in Technologies for Prevention and Mitigation of Natural Disasters at the Universität Hamburg, Germany (2014/2015). He obtained a Masters Degree in Environmental Sciences from the Federal University of São Carlos UFSCar (2019), which included a 6-month internship at the USDA-ARS Hydrology and Remote Sensing Laboratory in the USA. He earned his Ph.D. in Remote Sensing from the National Institute for Space Research - INPE (2024). He is a member of the research groups (i) Systems and Methods for Territorial Planning and Management (INPE) and (ii) Geotechnologies, Environment and Sustainability - GEOSUS (UFSCar). His work focuses on geoinformatics, remote sensing, urban planning, hydrodynamic modeling, urban floods, flood early warning systems (FEWS), and climate change and water security.
