Rafael Rios Moura

I am a Professor at the State University of Minas Gerais (UEMG) in Ituiutaba, where I coordinate the "Núcleo de Extensão e Pesquisa em Ecologia e Evolução" (NEPEE). I advise researchers in the Postgraduate Program in Ecology, Conservation and Biodiversity (PPECB) at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). I have a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), a master's and doctorate degree from the PPECB of the UFU and a postdoctoral degree from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). I develop research on behavioral ecology, with an emphasis on sexual selection, parental care, foraging strategies, and individual specialization. I use arthropods, mainly spiders, as experimental models and develop theoretical syntheses using mathematical modeling and meta-analysis. I coordinate education projects at the local community and promote science communication in the "Rios de Ciência" program on Instagram and YouTube.
