I am graduated in Agronomy from the Federal University of Viçosa (1994) with Master Degree in Plant Science/Plant Breeding at Federal University of Viçosa (1997) and a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology in UNICAMP and Cornell University (2006). I was a researcher in genetics and plant breeding at the Agricultural Research Agency of Minas Gerais and a Scientific Adviser at the Board of Minas Gerais Research Foundation (FAPEMIG). I worked as a scientist at the Monsanto Company developing research and leading a team involved with commercial genetic transformation of sugarcane. I am currently working as a Senior Scientist at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA) leading research projects at the field of Plant Genetics and Molecular Biology.
