João Gabriel Covolan Silva

Graduate in History from the University of São Paulo (USP). Member of the Laboratory for Studies on Brazil and the World-System (Lab-Mundi/USP). Conducted undergraduate research under the supervision of Prof. Dr João Paulo Garrido Pimenta, with a scholarship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). Holds a Masters degree in History from the Department of Historical Studies at the University of Turin, and is currently a PhD candidate in History at the Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa, Italy), under the supervision of Professors Francesco Benigno (SNS) and Thiago do Nascimento Krause (Wayne State University). He was a Visiting PhD Student at Kings College London, under the supervision of Professor Francisco Bethencourt, a fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs (Harvard University), a Mendel Fellow at the Lilly Library (Indiana University, USA), and a fellow of the Bell Library (University of Minnesota, USA). He is a member of the Società Italiana per la Storia dellEtà Moderna (SISEM), the Society for Italian Historical Studies, and the Association for Spanish and Portuguese Historical Studies.
