Professor at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. I have PhD on physics by Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2012) and post-doctorates in astrophysics at Universidade de São Paulo and at the Institut de Planétologie et d'Astrophysique de Grenoble (France). I have large observational experience, specially on mosaic processing of large tiles in optical and near-infrared bands, but also with multi-object spectrographs and spectral libraries. I work primarily on the characterization of young stellar clusters in the Galaxy and in the Magellanic Clouds, investigating the effects of the local interstellar medium on the dynamical evolution, morphology and mass distribution of these stellar populations.
