Abstract
In the present project will be studied the fundamental group of a topological space and some applications, like the theorem of Borsuk-Ulam and the Jordan curve theorem. The estimate time to cover the whole project is 22 months.

Graduation degree in Mathematics from the Federal University of São Carlos (2008), a Master's degree in Mathematics from the Federal University of São Carlos (2011), and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Federal University of São Carlos and the Université de Caen Basse-Normandie (2015). Currently,she is a professor at the Federal University of Espírito Santo and has experience in Mathematics, with an emphasis on Algebraic Topology, focusing mainly on the following topics: Braid Groups and Surface Braid Groups, Borsuk-Ulam-type Theorems and Fixed Point Theory, Residual Properties of Groups, and Geometric Group Theory. We intend to study the braids groups of the torus, B_n(T), and the Klein bottle, B_n(K), with algebraic and geometric approach. We intend to give an explicit section to the Fadell-Neuwirth's short exact sequence of such groups, to study the embedding of B_n(K) in B_{2n}(T) and the lower central and derived series of such groups, some relations with the mapping class groups.
