Henrique Albuquerque Fernandes is a geologist (2020) and holds a Ph.D. in Geochemistry (2025) from the University of São Paulo. Between 2018 and 2020, he carried out undergraduate research in sedimentology with a scholarship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). In 2021, he began a direct-entry Ph.D., also funded by FAPESP, with a thesis focused on elemental and isotopic chemostratigraphy using both traditional (C, O, Sr) and non-traditional (Cr, Cd) isotopes in Ediacaran successions. During his Ph.D., he took part in the international GRIND project (Geological Research through Integrated Neoproterozoic Drilling) of the ICDP (International Continental Scientific Drilling Program). From 2023 to 2024, he conducted a research internship (BEPE-FAPESP) at the University of Copenhagen, where he analyzed stable isotopes of Sr, Cr, and Cd. In parallel with his main research line, he also works on projects related to the practice, teaching, and outreach of speleology, with studies on granitic caves in southeastern Brazil. From 2018 to 2021, he volunteered as a mathematics teacher at the Preparatory Course for University Entrance Exams of the School of Philosophy, Languages and Literature, and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo (FFLCH - USP).
