Current research: Developing lanthanide-doped nano- and micro-particulate materials with properties such as upconversion, persistent luminescence, photocatalytic, ferroelectric, and piezoelectric, for strategic applications including bioapplications. Skills and Equipment Proficiency: Experienced in synthesis, surface modification, characterization, and application of nanomaterials; quality control of water and manganese-based products; proficient in operating advanced laboratory equipment including TEM (Philips CM 20), FTIR (Perkin Elmer Series 100), Raman Spectrophotometer (Horiba Jobin Yvon LabrAM HR 800), UV-Vis-NIR Spectrophotometer (Varian Cary 5000), Spectrofluorimeter (Horiba Jobin Yvon Fluorolog-3 FL3-122), and DLS/Zeta Potential Analyzer (Malvern ZetaSizer Nano ZS90).
