Ana Maria dos Santos Camargos

Biochemistry Bachelor from the Federal University of Viçosa - UFV (2018). She was a member of the Academic Center of Biochemistry (CA-BQI) and a volunteer intern at the Molecular Biology and Phylogeography laboratory at the Federal University of Viçosa, working on the improvement, purification and characterization of xylanase enzymes for biotechnological applications, mainly in the bioethanol and paper and pulp industries. Then, she was a scientific initiation scholar (CNPq) in the same laboratory, evaluating the effects of ethanol and inhibitors from lignin degradation, after the lignocellulosic biomass pretreatment stage, on enzymatic activity. Currently, she is a master's degree student at the University of São Paulo (EEL-USP), in Industrial Biotechnology postgraduate program. Current research project involves the oxidative coupling of arabinoxylans extracted from alkaline sulfite pretreated sugarcane bagasse, aiming to obtain bioproducts to add value to the 2nd generation ethanol production in the context of biorefineries.
