PhD in Energy Planning from COPPE/UFRJ, MSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UNESP, and a Bachelor's degree in Ecology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Also holds a PhD from the Centre for Energy Policy at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where he researched the Water-Energy-Food nexus and biofuels. Completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV), working on nature-based solutions and their connections to water-energy-food systems in urban areas. As a Climate and Agro-Environmental Policy Specialist at the Territorial Intelligence Center (CIT - UFMG), he focused on the traceability of agricultural and mineral commodities, with an emphasis on political engagement for more sustainable and deforestation-free supply chains. Currently, he is a Project Coordinator at WRI Brasil, working in the Land Use and Supply Chains sector. He has experience in Environmental and Energy Engineering, with a focus on planning and policies for energy, the environment, agriculture, forests, and climate. His main areas of expertise include public policies, environmental and energy planning, land use change, impacts of environmental and energy systems, agricultural and urban development, agro-industrial and urban waste, bioenergy, nature-based solutions, sustainability, and climate change.
