Birthplace: Brazil

Artur de Araujo Silva completed his degree in Electrical Engineering at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) in 2019. He is currently a researcher at the Research and Development Center in Telecommunications (CPQD). From 2015 to 2019 developed projects in the area of optical gas sensing using micro-structured optical fibers. From 2019 to the present he is part of the team at LSMO (Laboratory of Optical Sensing and Monitoring) of CPQD, where he performs research and development of optical fiber sensing systems with an emphasis on application in the electricity, oil, and gas sectors. His areas of expertise are fiber optic devices, fiber optic sensors (Power over Fiber, Fiber Bragg Grating, Anti-Resonant Optical Fibers), sensors for electrical power systems (current, voltage, and partial discharges), electromagnetic finite element simulations. He published four articles in specialized journals, two papers in events proceedings, and four patent applications. He is currently studying the Master's program in Electrical Engineering at the Federal University of São Carlos in the Photonics and Optoelectronics area. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
