I am, as Galeano says, what I do to change who I am. A blend of singularities and multiplicities surrounds me but does not define me. I am a Colombian who graduated with a bachelors degree in Basic Education with an Emphasis in Mathematics from the Francisco José de Caldas District University (2012). I hold a Masters (2018) and Ph.D. (2023) in Mathematics Education from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP, Rio Claro campus, with research internships in Brazil, Sweden, and Finland. These include working at the Department of Mathematics Education, in the Institute of Geosciences and Exact Sciences at UNESP, Rio Claro, teaching Euclidean Plane Geometry in the Undergraduate Mathematics program; co-teaching in the Teko Arandu Intercultural Indigenous Degree program at the Intercultural Indigenous Faculty (FAIND) of the Federal University of Grande Dourados (UFGD), where I, alongside my internship supervisor, taught courses such as Basic Concepts of Differential Calculus, Studies of Plane and Spatial Figures, and Supervised Internship in Mathematics II; and finally, as a visiting intern for three months each in the Mathematics Education Program at the Department of Teaching and Learning, at Stockholm University in Sweden, and the Doctoral Program in Humanities and Social Sciences at the Faculty of Arts, University of Helsinki in Finland. My academic work focuses on themes like Education, Mathematics Education, Ethnomathematics, Indigenous School Education, the Philosophy of Difference, Production of Subjectivities, Practices of Power, and Decoloniality, in partnership with groups in vulnerable social situations, including Indigenous peoples, quilombolas, rural communities, and public school teachers. I am an active member of the research groups GEPEm, Cronopies+, Im@go, and Phala, and I am currently pursuing a postdoctoral fellowship at the School of Education at UNICAMP. My thesis was recognized by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) with an Honorable Mention in the 2024 CAPES Thesis Award in the field of Education. I am becoming-affirming, with a passion for letters, numbers, music, and colors. For the jungle, the beach, and the mountains. For Indigenous communities, for the life that pulses and thrives. I am someone who gets lost while searching, who transforms. I am, I am becoming, I was, and I will be, Jorge. The fifth child of the nine my mother gave birth to. Descendant of peasants, teacher, dreamer, ally, and militant in the Indigenous movement. I exist in unity, in otherness, and in community. I am, once again, as Galeano says, my daily contradictions.
