Holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (1994) and a Master's degree in Structural Engineering (1998) from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. In 2013, was awarded a CNPq scholarship to pursue a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Brazil. In 2019, received a FAPESP grant for a Postdoctoral position in Materials Engineering at the Biosystems Engineering Department of the University of São Paulo Pirassununga (USP-FZEA), Brazil. In 2023, was awarded a FAPERJ grant for a Postdoctoral position in Civil Engineering at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at PUC-Rio, Brazil.Areas of expertise include non-conventional materials, image processing, finite element modeling, bamboo, natural composites, structural analysis, aging and degradation, heat treatment, chemical treatment, and mechanical testing.
