Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Química (IQ)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Dr. Abreu is an Industrial Chemist with a strong background in Chemistry and Materials Science, specializing in probe electrochemistry and Raman spectroscopy. During his Ph.D. studies at the Federal University of Ceará (Fortaleza, Brazil) and Cornell University (Ithaca, NY), he conducted cutting-edge research on molecular films on noble metals. He then continued his research in the area of vibrational spectroscopy of semiconductor materials under extreme conditions at the Department of Physics at UFC, and in plasmonic materials applied to catalysis at the Institute of Chemistry at USP. Currently, Dr. Abreu is an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Exact and Natural Sciences (ICEN) at the University for International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusophony (UNILAB), where he serves as the coordinator of the Materials and Devices Laboratory (Lab MaDe). This laboratory is part of the Renewable Energy Research Network from Ceará (Rede VERDES, Funcap), where he works as a technological development fellow focusing on the development of low-dimensional inorganic and hybrid semiconductor materials for optoelectronicdevices.
