In this proposal, we plan to study the fundamental interaction between photons and phonons. By the use of modern microfabrication techniques, simulations and theory we expect to achieve optomechanical oscillations and dissipative optomechanical interactions for nonlinear interaction between the light and sound confined to these structures.
