MSc. in Global Development, graduated at the University of Copenhagen, and BA in International Relations at Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo. I have working experience in both private and public sectors, specifically in the areas of financial market and investments, as well as international politics and diplomacy, respectively. I have also two years of experience with scientific research, being familiar with both quantitative and qualitative research methods. My Master?s Thesis, researching the Colombian conditional cash transfer programme Más Familias en Acción and its effects on women?s empowerment and children's school attendance, was designed as a mixed-methods research, and was qualified with the highest grade of the course. I have a great interest in gender and sustainable development studies. During my Master's, I had the opportunity of doing a six-month exchange at University of Sussex, in England, ranked as the best university of the world for gender and development studies (QS World Ranking 2020). At Sussex, I was able to further understand and analyse the impacts of gender mainstreaming in development practices, bringing the perceptions, experiences and interests of both women and men on policy- and decision-making. I had also the opportunity of critically analyse the gendered experiences in conflict-related situations, particularly masculinities and femininities representations in warfare. Having engaged with those topics allowed me to further understand the importance of adopting a gender perspective in peacebuilding processes, which constitute a predominantly male-dominated environment, and often neglect that gender, violence and conflict are mutually constituted.
