Undergraduated in physiotherapy from the Brazilian Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine (1992), with a specialization in higher education teaching from Faculdade Béthèncourt da Silva (1993), improvement in operative technique and experimental surgery from Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública (1999), master's degree (2005) and doctorate (2007) in Morphological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, post-doctorate at Western Sydney University, Australia (2014). He is currently studying music at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. He has experience in the clinical, educational and research areas, with his main interests being the topics of pain, injury and peripheral nerve regeneration, functional electrical stimulation, non-invasive neuromodulation and neuroscience of artistic performance practices. Within these areas, it develops multidisciplinary research involving professionals from the health (physiotherapy, medicine and speech therapy), human (psychology), technological (physics and mathematics) and artistic (music and dance) areas. He is currently associate professor IV at the Faculty of Physiotherapy at UFRJ, professor on the permanent staff of the Graduate Program in Neuroscience and Cognition at UFABC (Interdisciplinary), the Graduate Program in Music at UNIRIO (arts), and Graduate Program in Rehabilitation Sciences, and professor on the collaborative staff of the Postgraduate Program in Medicine and Health at EBMSP (Medicine I), in addition to being a member of the Medical Research Laboratory 54 (LIM-54) at USP.
