Biologist and Master in Botany from the Federal University of Paraná, PhD in Conservation of Forest Ecosystems at the PPG in Forest Resources at ESALQ/USP, with experience in the areas of ecosystem restoration, nature conservation and environmental regularization of rural properties and river basins. Having worked in the private sector (consultancy in the recovery of degraded areas) and the third sector (O Boticário Group Foundation for Nature Protection - 2002 to 2006), he has been a researcher at Embrapa since December 2010. Until 2023 he led research projects in Reserve restoration Legal and Permanent Preservation Areas and production of seedlings of native species for urban and peri-urban afforestation at Embrapa Agrossilvopastoril, in Sinop, MT. During this period he also provided support in technology transfer actions for technicians, on topics related to environmental regularization, in addition to helping to supervise the unit's research (from 2018 to 2021). As of December 2023, he joined the Embrapa Florestas research team. Founding member and moderator of the Brazilian Network for Ecological Restoration (REBRE), participated in the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Society for Ecological Restoration (SOBRE - management 2015-2018), in addition to presiding over the II Brazilian Conference on Ecological Restoration - SOBRE2018 and having participated in the Organizing Committee of SOBRE2017, SOBRE2022 and the future SOBRE2024.
