Undergraduate student at the Teaching and Literature with a license in French course at the São Paulo State University (campus de São José do Rio Preto). Under the guidance of Professor Dr. Flávia Falleiros, is conducting research on "Experience and Experimentation: The Novelistic Work and Imagination in Diderot." A portion of the research was carried out at the University of Quebec at Rimouski, Canada, during a research internship funded by the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program. Additionally, Luca is a member of the Société Canadienne d'Étude du Dix-huitième Siècle (SIEDS), the Société Diderot, and the Associação Brasileira de Estudos do Século XVIII (Abes18). During his undergraduate, he concluded two researches: The satiric procedure in Jacques the Fatalist and His Master, by Denis Diderot", supported by the scholarship PIBIC from the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development; and Satirical debate and spinosism in Jacques le fataliste et son maître, by Denis Diderot", supported by the scholarship from the São Paulo Research Foundation. Both researches were supervised by Dr. Flávia Nascimento, being part of the research project Denis Diderot: crítica, estética, arte e literatura modernas. These works were published in papers, received four awards and titles in academic events. Nowadays, Luca de Almeida is developing his master dissertation, named "Aliances and borders between the fiction and the phylosophy in La Promenade du sceptique and Jacques le fateliste et son maître by Denis Diderot" under the funding of the Coordination of Superior Level Staff Improvement (CAPES), and he works as a volunteer teacher of Portuguese as a Foreign Language at the Centro de Línguas e Desenvolvimento de Professores (CLDP/UNESP). He also is a redactor and curator of the independent magazine A Fonte. Luca de Almeida has experience in the area of Literary Studies, acting mostly in the following fields: Denis Diderot, French narrative of the 18th century, relations between literature and philosophy.
