received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electronics Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 1988 and 1991, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Université Pierre et Marie Curie in 1997, where he was an associate researcher during that year. Since 1998 he has been an associate professor at UFRJ. His research interests are in distributed multimedia applications, multipeer communication, high speed and mobile networks, and quality of service in the Internet. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)

In this research project, we will develop a software framework for the automatic generation of device mobility scenarios and patterns, as well as the execution of simulations, the collection of generated data and the application of ML/AI techniques in the beam selection in millimeter wave networks and corresponding performance assessments.
