Hudson Pinheiro had his bacharel in Biological Sciences (2006) at Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), master degree in Environmental Oceanography (2010) at UFES, PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at University of California Santa Cruz (2016), Postdoctoral fellowship at California Academy of Sciences (2019) and Young Investigator FAPESP at University of São Paulo (2024). Currently an Assistant Professor at the Center for Marine Biology (CEBIMar) of the University of São Paulo (USP), his main research interest consists in biodiversity, biogeography, evolution, and conservation of marine environments, specially reef ecosystems, oceanic islands, seamounts, and mesophotic reefs.
