Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) São Carlos campus, Brazil. Experienced in general, molecular, and genomic microbiology, with a focus on antimicrobial resistance in bacteria isolated from Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients. Works on the detection of resistance genes and virulence factors using PCR and whole genome sequencing (WGS). Has experience in hospital epidemiology and surveillance of multidrug-resistant pathogens, particularly Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella aerogenes, and Klebsiella oxytoca, as well as in the bioprospecting of endophytic microorganisms for the discovery of new antimicrobials. Also skilled in the isolation, characterization, and metabolic induction of bacteria and fungi, including enzyme synthesis and nanoparticle production via green synthesis. Currently a PhD student in the Molecular Genetics and Microbiology (MGM) program at Duke University, United States. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
