Graduated in Agronomy from the Federal University of Lavras (2004), Master in Agronomy (Soil and Plant Nutrition) from the University of São Paulo (2006) and Ph.D. in Agronomy (Soil and Plant Nutrition) from the University of São Paulo (2010). He holds a postdoctoral degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He is currently a senior researcher at the National Biorenewables Laboratory (LNBR-CNPEM). He has a CNPq productivity grant. He works as a doctoral advisor in the Integrated Doctoral Program in Bioenergy (UNICAMP, USP and UNESP) and as an advisor in the Graduate Program in Soils and Plant Nutrition (ESALQ/USP). He is principal investigator and member of the Management Committee of the Center for Carbon Research in Tropical Agriculture (CCARBON/USP). He has experience in tropical soil sustainability and agro-industrial residue management, working mainly on the following topics: soil quality, land use change, soil carbon stocks and N2O emissions from agricultural soils. He is interested in investigating the main mechanisms and processes that regulate carbon storage and N2O emissions from tropical soils. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
