Gabriela Guerrera Soares

Graduating in Biotechnology from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar, Campus Sede) with honors in Genetics, Biology and Molecular Biochemistry, the former student completed her academic journey in 2022/2. From her first semester, she demonstrated her commitment by joining the team at Consultoria Soluções em Biotecnologia Júnior (CSB), playing a key role in designing and managing biosafety consulting projects. Throughout the following semesters, in line with her academic training, she dedicated herself to volunteer work, enriching her experience and contributing to the development of the academic community.In 2020/1, the undergraduate expanded her academic boundaries on an exchange with a focus on molecular biology at the renowned University of Limerick, in partnership with UFSCar. During this period, she focused on improving her knowledge of proteomics and fluency in English, thus broadening her skills base. Standing out in scientific initiation projects, she dedicated herself to the characterization of multidrug-resistant bacteria using the whole genome sequencing (WSG) technique, consolidating her expertise in bioinformatics. As a former intern at the Plant Biotechnology Laboratory, she channeled her energy and dedication into advanced studies in the expression and purification of recombinant proteins. During her time in this challenging environment, he actively contributed to significant advances in the field, demonstrating not only technical competence, but also a remarkable commitment to scientific research. Her exemplary academic career, marked by notable achievements and constant improvement, is testimony to her deep involvement with biotechnology. Proactive participation in extracurricular activities has further enriched her education, evidencing a holistic approach to learning and professional development. Currently, she is pursuing a master's degree in the Graduate Program in Evolutionary Genetics and Molecular Biology at UFSCar, focusing on the development, expression, and purification of vaccines against multidrug-resistant bacteria, seeking to deepen her knowledge and contribute to the biotechnology research community.
