Marcelo Bergamin Zani

Bachelor of Science and Technology from the Federal University of ABC (UFABC) and Bachelor of Biological Sciences from the same institution, completed in 2011. He developed a scientific initiation project for two years through the Center for Natural and Human Sciences (CCNH). Master in Biosystems from UFABC (2014) in the area of #8203;#8203;molecular biology focused on investigating the microbiota of human skin. PhD from the same program (2018), in the area of #8203;#8203;molecular biology and enzymology, with studies focused on serine protease inhibitors (Serpins). From 2018 to 2021 he did post-doctoral work at the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), where he carried out studies on antibodies that inhibit human tissue kallikreins (hKLK). In November 2019, he co-founded KRABS Biotechnology, a biotechnology company focused on developing new recombinant antibodies for diagnostics, pharmaceuticals and various biotechnological applications, where he served as Executive Director. Since 2023, he has worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Biophysics at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), where he works with the insertion of non-canonical amino acids into antibody fragments aimed at rapid diagnosis of Covid-19. He has experience in the areas of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Enzyme Inhibitors, Enzymology, Recombinant Antibodies and Bioinformatics. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
