Mariane Molina Buffo

Graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) and in Exact Sciences Teaching with a specialization in Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (USP). Holds a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering (with an emphasis on Biochemical Engineering) from UFSCar, with part of the doctoral research conducted at the Laboratory of Renewable Resources Engineering at Purdue University, USA. Professional experience includes work as a Lead Researcher at Actinobac Agrosciences, funded by a FAPESP grant, focusing on the development and scale-up of bioinoculant production for agricultural applications. Additionally, experience as a Visiting Researcher and Postdoctoral Fellow at UFSCar, contributing to courses and research and outreach projects in the field of bioprocesses. Research expertise lies in Biochemical Engineering, particularly in bioprocess development. Key areas of specialization include hydrodynamics and oxygen transfer in bioreactors; cultivation of filamentous microorganisms for the production of industrially relevant metabolites such as enzymes, bioinoculants, and whole-cells; and studies on biorefineries and biofuels. Teaching experience includes courses in exact sciences at the basic education level and various higher education courses, such as Unit Operations, Introduction to Chemical Engineering, Reaction Engineering Laboratory, and Biochemical Engineering.
