Born in São Paulo, she graduated in Medicine in 1986, became a Doctor of Science in 2010 and a Full Professor in 2019, the three titles obtained by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP). At FMUSP, from 2004 to 2012 she coordinated the Humanities Teachers Group of CEDEM (Center for Development of Medical Education of FMUSP). Since then, she has worked in teaching humanities and humanization in medical and health education at FMUSP. Between 2010 and 2014, she created and developed the discipline "Medicine and Humanities" for first year medical students. Between 2015 and 2017, she coordinated and developed the discipline "Citizenship and Medicine" for students of the third year of medicine. Currently, she is a professor in the disciplines "Integrated Discussion of Cases I and II" for first and second years of the undergraduate medicine of the new curriculum at FMUSP. she coordinates the model "Humanization".At the Hospital das Clínicas (HC), in 2012, she created the "Technical and Scientific Group of Humanization", the "Commission of Humanization" and the "FMUSPHC Humanization Network", all under her coordination until now. In 2020, during the pandemic, she designed and coordinated the program "Caring us", regarding humanization in the healthcare of patients, relatives and health workers of the HC.At Faculdade Santa Marcelina, she coordinates the "Mentoring Program" for medical undergraduate students.
