He holds a degree in Biological Sciences (Genetics) (2010), a Masters (2012) and Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry (2016), and a postdoctoral fellowship (2018) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with visiting researcher periods at Columbia University (New York, NY). He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, working in the field of Neuroscience. He is a CNPq Level 2 Productivity Fellow, FAPERJ Young Scientist of Our State, affiliate member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (20212025), and member of the Global Membership Committee of the Society for Neuroscience (2022present). He serves as Senior Editor of the Journal of Neurochemistry and Brain Research, and as Editor of eLife and Alzheimers Dementia, in addition to reviewing for numerous international journals. He has received awards such as the CAPES Thesis Award Vital Brazil (2017), the Blas Frangione Early Career Achievement Award from the Alzheimers Association (2022), and was recognized among 11 Early Career Researchers to Watch by Nature Medicine (2022). His research experience is in Neuroscience and Cellular/Molecular Biology, with emphasis on Molecular Neuroscience, focusing primarily on the following topics: molecular mechanisms of Alzheimers disease, biomarkers, and translational studies in neurodegenerative disorders.
