Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Materials Engineering at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver (UBC, 2023-2024). Graduate-level Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo, teaching the courses: Analytical Techniques in Environmental Chemical Engineering I and Analytical Techniques in Environmental Chemical Engineering II (2022-present). Bachelor's degree in Industrial Chemistry from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS-2012), master's (2014) and Ph.D. (2019) in Materials Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS-2019). Sandwich Ph.D. at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB-Spain) under the Sandwich Ph.D. Program Abroad (PDSE - CAPES). Experience in the synthesis, characterization, and processing of nanoparticles and polymer nanocomposites. Dissertation and thesis focused on polymer nanocomposites (polyethylene), emphasizing the acquisition of electrical conductivity (graphene nanoplates) and antibacterial properties (silver nanoparticles covalently bonded or encapsulated in silica). Experience in the synthesis, processing, and characterization of polymers. Microbiology evaluating the antibacterial properties of nanocomposites. Research in the field of environmental chemistry focusing on recycling and metal analysis. Recycling of industrial catalysts through pyro/hydrometallurgical processes. Synthesis of metallic nanoparticles using secondary sources (catalyst residues, electronic waste, polymer composites) as raw material, aiming for a circular economy. Synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles for the selective separation of critical metals. Currently, a postdoctoral researcher participating in the FAPESP project, focusing on the application of functionalized magnetic nanoparticles for the selective separation of lanthanum from solutions derived from the leaching of spent catalysts, at the Recycling, Waste Treatment and Extraction Laboratory (LAREX), Department of Chemical Engineering at the Polytechnic School (POLI-USP) and the University of British Columbia (UBC).
