Environmental and Sanitation Engineer graduated from the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel), where he developed research on the production of biogas and methane via anaerobic digestion of industrial effluents and their co-digestion with organic solid waste. He obtained his master's degree in the Postgraduate Program in Environmental Sciences at UFPel in the first semester of 2020, with the theme of his dissertation being the production of biodiesel and methane from by-products, waste and effluents from the rice industry. He holds a PhD in Hydraulic and Sanitation Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP) with a sandwich period (BEPE - FAPESP) at the Environmental Biotechnology Laboratory (LBE) of the National Institute for Research in Agriculture, Food and Environment of France (INRAE). The central theme of his thesis was the valorization of lignocellulosic residues and animal waste via anaerobic co-digestion and its prospects on a large scale. He is currently pursuing a postdoctoral degree at the Bioenergy Research Institute (IPBEN) at the Júlio Mesquita Filho São Paulo State University (Unesp), where he is investigating the co-digestion of sugarcane, citrus and cattle manure residues in leachate bed reactors and the optimization of the process to enable large-scale application.
