Abstract
The Amazonas Basin is an intracratonic basin with paleozoic to cenozoic sedimentation, which covers part of the Brazilian states of Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia and Amapá. The most significant basin sedimentary package is the Alter do Chão Formation, from Cretaceous to Cenozoic age.
