Graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (1980), internship at the Research Center of the Thrombosis and Atherosclerosis Laboratory and the Research Center of the Department of Nuclear Medicine of the Montreal Institute of Cardiology, Canada ( 1993), Ph.D. in Clinical Emergencies at the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP) (1999) and "Professor Livre Docente" at the Instituto do Coração of the Hospital das Clínicas of the University of São Paulo Medical School (InCor-HC.FMUSP) (2001). Director of the Clinical Emergency Unit at InCor-HC.FMUSP (2002-2007). Associate Professor at FMUSP since 2010, based on the Program of the Discipline of Cardiology in the Area of Cardiogeriatrics and Heart Disease in Women. Director of the Clinical Unit of Cardiogeriatrics and Heart Disease in Women (2010-2012). Member (2011-2015) and vice-coordinator (2015-2020) of the Research Ethics Committee of FMUSP. Coordinator of the Cardiology module of the interdepartmental discipline (MSP4231) of the 4th year of graduation at FMUSP since 2017. He has three optional disciplines for undergraduate students at FMUSP, two elective internships for foreign undergraduate students, and an academic league at FMUSP. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Level 3 at the Faculty of Medicine at USP and Director of the Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation Service at InCor-HC.FMUSP. Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Instituto Perdizes at HCFMUSP since 2022. Doctoral Advisor for the Postgraduate Program in Cardiology (Senso Estrito) at FMUSP, overseeing two courses in the program (MCP5893 and MCP5899) and the Postgraduate Program in Medical Sciences at FMUSP. Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology. Ad hoc consultant for national and international funding agencies. He has experience in Medicine, with an emphasis on Cardiology, working mainly on the following topics: chronic coronary disease, acute coronary syndrome, epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases, biomarkers in cardiology, and cardiovascular disease in women.
